The Total Exhaust and Manifold Specialists
Previous    Next
Westfield powered by 1.7 Ford Puma engine. Primaries had to run both sides of top bracing bar to gain length, and create a manifold that works more efficiently than just squeezing them down one side of top bar. The collector had to be removable to enable some engine maintenance at later stages. This was the first Puma engine we had seen in a Westfield or even a kitcar. It is a pure and simple road car and the original engine was removed to make room for the new one. The quality of the conversion would make you think Westfield had done it themselves. Obviously the Puma engine was transverse to start with and is now mounted in line to a Ford type 9 gearbox, which was an engineering exercise in itself.
